Popular between 1890 and 1910 during the Belle Époque period, the style is the inspiration for our Rookwood artists interpretation. Art Nouveau was often inspired by natural forms such as the sinuous curves of plants and flowers. Other characteristics were a sense of dynamism and movement (seen throughout the collection by both design and glaze effect), often given by asymmetry or whiplash lines, and the use of modern materials including iron, glass, and in our case- ceramics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA truly one of a kind piece, crafted by hand in our Cincinnati studio, by our Rookwood artists.
