"The 11x14 inch plaque was revisited in February of 2023 after nearly a hundred-year absence. In the early 1900s, Rookwood had artists decorate on large format plaques, meant to be framed as wall art. Much like oil on canvas, the artists would create bucolic scenes and imagery that delighted. This is a modern version by Deborah Smith, the inspiration being part of the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon, that she visited while on vacation. Very well done, achieved with layered brush strokes. Homage stamp."
