Flying Pig Marathon Commemoratives

In commemoration of a marathon iconic to the city of Cincinnati, Rookwood Pottery created the first Coughlin Cup, which features the captivating moment when the marathon winner crosses the finish line, surrounded by cheering spectators and iconic elements to Cincinnati’s skyline. The plaque was named for marathon founder Bob Coughlin, and features a touching congratulatory message to the male and female first-place finishers on the reverse of the piece.

Rookwood Pottery also crafted the Flying Pig Marathon Commemorative Mug & Ornament to celebrate everyone who crosses the coveted “Finish Swine”. The handmade, ceramic Flying Pig Mug was a collaborative effort of three Rookwood artists, commemorating 20 Years Running of the marathon. The mug form was hand thrown by Morgan Willenbrink, and incorporates a handle designed by Zach Sabatelli. The badge on the surface of the mug was designed by Mary Guanciale and depicts iconic Cincinnati elements and the beloved Flying Pig Marathon mascot.

The Flying Pig Ornament was designed to celebrate your favorite runners and capture the excitement of the marathon all the way through the holidays. Each ornament is glazed and handmade with care, featuring the official Flying Pig mascot on the front and a commemorative homage to 20 Years Running of the marathon on the reverse.
