Collection: The Exhibition of Color

The Exhibition of Color collection explores bold, abstract color on hand-thrown Rookwood pottery, offering a fresh approach for those interested in evolving art. The collection features vibrant, dripping glazes on both modern and traditional forms, creating unique, complex pieces that break away from Rookwood's traditional style and approach to art pottery.

Inspired by Royal Doulton's 1920s Chang Glaze, these pieces display thick white glazes with bursts of colorful drips. Each vase reveals new colors from every angle, making it a dynamic and modern interpretation of glaze art.

This small batch release features innovative glaze treatments, with multiple firings to achieve intricate layering and melting effects. The resulting glazes are one-of-a-kind, with each piece showcasing its unique colors and drips. Due to the nature of the process, imperfections like base drips and glaze skips may occur, but these are part of the artistic character.

Each vase is marked with the Rookwood Homage Stamp and is best appreciated up close. This collection is on display in our Cincinnati showroom.
