Beneath the soft blue of our Teton glaze, with its gentle web of crazing, lies a story more than a century in the making. This limited-edition tile honors Cincinnati’s Coney Island—once an apple orchard on the banks of the Ohio, transformed into a beloved amusement park that, for 137 summers, became a fixture of joy, gathering, and memory for generations of families.

From the hum of the rides to the shimmer of Sunlite Pool, Coney Island has always been more than a place—it’s a feeling. This tile, thoughtfully designed by Gary Simon and Allan Nairn, captures that spirit in clay. The subtle crackle of the glaze evokes a sense of age and permanence, like a cherished photograph or the worn boards of the boardwalk.

Like the season it celebrates, this tile is part of a limited run—made to capture the warmth, joy, and memory of summer, and available only for a short time.

Handcrafted at Rookwood, where Cincinnati’s history is honored one piece at a time.

For 137 years, the park has been a beloved summer destination, drawing thousands of Cincinnatians and earning the title of ‘America’s Finest Amusement Park.’”
