A wild hare is caught mid-stride on this medium size vase. The eye of the viewer is drawn first to the glint in the animal’s eye as it gazes back upon the viewer, and then to its large white feet that stand out starkly against the dark gray background. The curve of the hare’s back mimics the overall shape of the vase, and this unity of composition and form helps make this piece another favorite of the artist.
