A pair of cicadas on blades of grass, each one facing a different direction yet edging closer to one another. The characteristic red eyes and glass like-wings of the insect evoke memories of high summer, when the hum of the cicadas envelops the treetops. The background spray is an earthy, muted green and the angular shape of the vase mimics the blades of grass the subjects occupy.
