Colossal Celtic carved floor vase with lid: Grand and elegant style with current glaze artistry
How large can we go in pursuit of perfection? This colossal floor vase has the perfect glaze drips from the carved Celtic pattern. Thrown in 4 pieces, 5 counting the lid, this 42-inch-tall piece is the pinnacle of the potter’s craft. Glazed by Tammy Maloney who used the carving to anticipate the glaze interactions and flow of the glaze during the melt of the firing.
